The First LGBT Business Chamber of Commerce turns 35!
GGBA The First LGBT Chamber of CommerceFounded in 1974, the Golden Gate Business Association (GGBA) is America’s first LGBT Chamber of Commerce and began as the first business organization founded by gay and lesbian entrepreneurs. Its mission was, and still is, to grow, promote and increase the visibility of LGBT businesses and those businesses in the community that support them.
The GGBA provides networking opportunities, marketing exposure and diversified programs which empower its members to create, grow and retain business. Being a member of the GGBA is being a part of a community that reaches far beyond its membership alone. Through collaborating with other prominent business and professional organizations, the GGBA helps build a more cohesive network to provide its members with more resources, engage civil leaders on business-related issues and work together to create solutions in today’s rapidly changing and increasingly challenging economic conditions.
